A Shirt By Any Name

I have one blue shirt. You have to trust me on this one. Since I'm a long way away from most of you, it would be impractical to, say, deliver your groceries in my blue shirt, so if you don't trust me, I guess you're out of luck.
Now, undoubtedly, some of you do not believe in my blue shirt. Among those who choose to deny my blue shirt will be two types of people. First are those who acknowledge that I have to cover my upper body with something, but cannot believe that "something" could possibly be one blue shirt. Second are those who insist that, because they have no proof to the contrary, I must undoubtedly walk around shirtless.

You will insist that it is well within my means to travel the country wining and dining with all of the web's users wearing what will, by the end of the trip, be a very worn out blue shirt. And at any rate, if I did travel the country showing off my blue shirt, there will be those new readers who read the archives at some later date and insist, just like you are insisting now, that I don't have a blue shirt. These people will be wrong, but it would, to say the least, be impractical to prove this to every new reader. I'll just have to wait 'till you come to my apartment to prove to you that I have one blue shirt.

Perhaps my friends, or friends of my friends, and so on, who believe in my blue shirt cannot possibly believe that I only have one. They'll say I have two or three blue shirts. They will also be wrong. And unlike the first group, I couldn't prove to them that I have one blue shirt even if it were practical to visit all of them. They would see my one blue shirt, confident that somewhere (maybe hidden under the couch?) I have another blue shirt.

And some of you, the bright ones, will correctly deduce that I wouldn't lie about this. After all, why would I say I have a blue shirt if I don't? And some of you might call it "anotherQuestion's shirt" and some of you might call it "his shirt" or "that shirt" or even "Sammy" (for that last one -- you're a little weird, but at least you trust me). And some of you might think it's a striped shirt, and some of you might think it's a solid shirt, but I only have one blue shirt, so anyone who believe in my blue shirt believes in the same shirt.

My blue shirt, by any name, is still my blue shirt.
